Mike Bishop, a lifetime resident of Oakland County, has spent most his professional life in service of his community. Bishop served as local prosecutor, protecting the citizens of Oakland County communities, then in state government as an elected representative protecting Michigan taxpayers. He has always been an honorable steward of the public trust.In 2006, he became the first Michigan Senate Majority Leader from Oakland County and fought for Oakland County values in Lansing. Throughout his term in the Senate, Michael championed a wide variety of important causes, including sponsoring legislation to create the Michigan Child Protection Registry, which was the first of its kind in the United States. He also authored the Michigan Identify Theft Protection Act, which established identity theft as a felony.
Currently, Mike Bishop is Senior Counsel at a private law firm, while raising his three young children with his wife, Cristina, in Rochester. Bishop is ready on day one, to reform the Oakland County Prosecutor's office and serve as a strong, fair chief legal representative for the citizens for Oakland County.
